The Project
GE Aviation uses Virtek automated cutter cuts ply shapes for each part’s layup. It is done by hand and opposite the cleanroom is a second glassed-in layup cell, with a laser projection system.
The Challenge
Layup is done by hand, which left room for errors and mistakes.
The Solution
With a laser projection system supplied by Virtek, to aid in ply orientation and placement.
